Cardiac Surgery Program

The UCSF Cardiac Surgery Program offers a variety of advanced surgical treatments for heart conditions. Our mission is to provide patients with minimally invasive options, so they have the best possible outcomes and shorter recovery times, compared to traditional open-heart surgery.

      Our team participates in this national database, established in 1989 with a mission to improve care quality and patient safety. It's considered the gold standard for clinical data registries, which are used to improve patient outcomes.

      Our surgeons are members of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, an organization of surgical centers focused on patient outcomes, surgical techniques and development of less invasive forms of surgery.

      The Heart Valve Society maintains collaborative international research networks with the goal of improving research on heart valve disease. Our surgeons participate to stay up to date on the latest innovative care for these conditions.
